Editorial policy
This page explains how the guides on trailisse.com are researched, written, checked and corrected, and what we will not do. It exists so you can judge how much weight to give what you read here.
Who writes this
The guides are written by the Trailisse reservations team — the same people who answer the phone and issue tickets. The material comes from the questions we are actually asked and the mistakes we actually see travellers make.
How we source facts
- Primary sources first. Baggage charges, fare-class rules, change and cancellation policies and boarding procedures are taken from the airline's own published policy pages. Rules about passenger rights, refunds and airport identification are taken from the relevant authority — the US Department of Transportation, the Transportation Security Administration, or the equivalent body.
- We link out. Where a page states a rule, it links to the source so you can check it yourself. We would rather you verified something than trusted us blindly.
- We do not copy competitors. If another travel site is the only place a claim appears, that is a reason to leave the claim out, not to repeat it.
Dates and review
Airline policy is not stable. A page that was right in March can be wrong by June, and airlines do not always announce changes loudly.
- Every guide and every airline page carries a last verified date. That date means a person re-checked the facts against the source on that day — not that a word was changed.
- Pages covering fees and policies are reviewed on a rolling basis, and immediately when we become aware of a change through our own booking work.
- When we correct something material, we re-date the page.
What we will not publish
- Fares. We do not publish airfares. They change constantly, and a ticket agent advertising a price must show the full total including all taxes and mandatory charges. A headline number that does not survive your itinerary is worse than no number.
- Reviews or ratings we cannot evidence. There are no star ratings, review counts or testimonials on this site. If we ever display reviews, they will be independently collected and we will say where they came from and how many there are.
- Statistics we cannot substantiate. No "10,000 happy customers", no "trusted by millions", no invented awards, no counters.
- Credentials we do not hold. We state only accreditations we actually have.
- Any implication that we are an airline, or that we speak for one. See our disclaimer.
Our commercial interest, stated plainly
Trailisse earns a service fee on tickets it issues. That is a commercial interest in you calling us, and you should read our guides knowing it. We try to manage it in two ways: by saying openly when you would be better off booking yourself, and by keeping the guides factual rather than writing them as sales copy with a phone number attached.
Advertising on the guide pages is supplied by a third-party network and is not selected, endorsed or reviewed by us. Advertisers have no influence over what we write. We do not accept payment for coverage, links or favourable treatment of any airline.
Artificial intelligence
We use AI tools to help draft and structure material. Nothing is published without a person checking the facts against a primary source, because these tools are confidently wrong often enough that unchecked output would be a liability. Responsibility for every published page rests with us, not with a tool.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, please tell us at info@trailisse.com. Include the page and, if you can, the source that shows the correct position. We will check it, fix it, and re-date the page. Material corrections will be noted on the page itself.
Independence from this site's booking service
The guides describe what the rules are, including when the rules mean you do not need us. Several pages on this site tell you to book directly with the airline or to do it yourself. That is deliberate and it is the standard we intend to keep.
